Who sees your information, and who decides.
This page says where Tend keeps your organisation's information, how the AI is used, and what Tend doesn't do. If something here is unclear, ask us.
Where it lives.
Tend is hosted in Australia, in Amazon Web Services' Sydney region.
- Hosted in Sydney. Your records, photos, reports and their backups are kept in Australian regions.
- No tenant details needed. Tend records homes, not tenants. You don't need tenant names, dates of birth or contact details to run an assessment. The photos are of rooms and components, so ask your inspectors to keep people and personal papers out of shot.
- Private to your organisation. Your records aren't visible to any other organisation. You choose who joins your team, and your board can have its own read-only view.
This website is separate from the app. It runs on Cloudflare, and anything you send through it may be processed outside Australia. The website privacy page has the detail.
Who decides.
Tend suggests. Your reviewer decides, and the reason is kept.
- How the AI is used. It suggests a condition rating and the defects it can see in the inspection photos, and it says how sure it is.
- Where it runs. The AI analysis runs in Australia.
- A person decides. A reviewer accepts, changes or rejects every suggestion, and the reason is kept against their name.
- Two people sign. Your inspector and reviewer both sign every report before it's sent to the housing office.
The review of one home: Tend suggested 2 (Poor) for floor finishes and says it needs closer review. The reviewer chose Modify, set the rating to 3, and recorded the reason: carpet is dated but intact; Fair, not Poor.
What's kept.
Every change, for seven years.
- An append-only audit trail. Every change is recorded: who changed what, when and why. Evidence, reports and the audit trail are kept for seven years.
- Backups. Nightly offsite backups, locked against deletion, with a tested restore.
The limits.
Tend provides decision support.
Tend does not certify AMF or CTC compliance. It does not detect concealed defects, and it does not replace professional judgement.
Every report Tend issues states its limits on its face, including this: "Where separate statutory certification, testing, licensing or specialist professional assessment is required, this report should not be relied upon as a substitute for that certification, testing or assessment."
What we don't claim.
Said plainly, so nobody has to ask.
- Standards. Tend doesn't hold any security or quality certifications yet.
- The AHO. The AHO has not endorsed Tend.
- Time or money back. We don't publish figures for the time or money you'll get back, because we haven't measured them with a provider yet.
- Customers. We won't name or quote any organisation without its written permission.
